Got going on taking the motor/transaxle out of the "beast".  Greasy mess that was.  Got it cleaned up, checked valve clearances.  All valves ar exactlly on minimum clearance spec except 3 that were 0.001" under and one that was 0.004" under (min spec 0.012").  Assuming that shim and bucket valve trains most likely get tighter over time instead of looser like pushrod ones, I think the cams will come out and all shims adjusted to middle of spec range.  When I figure out how to put pics up I'll include some, in the mean time I'll keep an album going.

Rumble?!  Good one.  Sounds more like a high priced sewing machine.  The factory muffler leaves a bit to be desired.  Since it is in rough shape, while "repairing" it some of the packing might disappear and a few more holes in the baffles may appear.  Maybe get the Tubi sound without the Tubi bill.
